Back on to the A9, northward bound, after being greeted by a glorious sunrise. More sunshine – weather getting better the further north I travel.
In my planning, I deliberately booked a few non-camping stops, just to give myself a bit of a break from possible ugly weather. Wick was one of those. On the way, I stopped at a small fishing village called Helmsdale for a quick sandwich lunch.
Shopping next ! Tesco in still sunny Wick, not only for food (and a bundle of new dish and teacloths that had been sacrificed at Fort William), but also relief of what I will call “intestinal discomfort”. Might be just a chill from all this wet/damp over the last few days. Precautionary clean out of the suspected cool box also performed – surprising what people do in a Tesco car park…….
The B + B (Harbour House) was OK, but with a non-ensuite bathroom down the corridor. It was also providing breakfasts in your room, rather than in a separate dining room, as part of their COVID stuff – a bit different.
John O’Groats tomorrow.
