Another lazy start, with Huseyin making a late AM breakfast.
The highlight of the day was the Killer Queen tribute band concert at the Amphitheatre again. Quite a contrast from earlier in the week, as the majority of the audience were ex-pats, rather than locals. The whole thing was a benefit for local charity Tulips, who provide help for those with cancer.
H & H had organised a 14 seater mini-bus, so we ended up collecting people from all over the place locally. I had no idea where we went ! The “planning department” ( ie Heather) had decided to get there early to bag a good place. Obviously the other guys had been before and knew the ropes, so bags of booze, crisps and sweets miraculously appeared, along with seat cushions, etc to make things more comfortable.
One thing that was a worry was the weather. The forecast had predicted thunder/lightning/heavy rain, but luckily it stayed away from the concert, but we did get a spectacular light show provided by Mother nature at one point……..
We got there early enough to see the band’s sound check, which was a bit of fun.
The place soon filled up as it got dark…….
Then off it went…….
Now I have to admit that Queen were never one of my all time favourite bands, but the combination of the place, the time, etc, made it most enjoyable – and it supported a very worthy local charity.
